Drogba: Chelsea's Gandalf.

There has been a lot of buzz about Drogba rejoining chelsea. And I don't see the reason why there shouldn't be. The prolific forward is meritous in his own way. His last kick of the ball for chelsea made them the champions of Europe. Drogba's attacking ability sends fear in the eyes of the defenders. The question underlying all this is : Will he have the same impact? Is the best behind him? Will he be shadowed by Costa?

The answer to all this is time. With season kicking off sooner rather than later, Chelsea Manager, Jose Mourinho believes that his team are done in transfer market by signing Dider Drogba. Chelsea have four strikers at the moment. Diego Costa, from atletico Madrid. The 50 million flop Torres ( who by the way missed from 2 yards lol), the prodigal Romelu Lukaku, and Didier Drogba.

With the recent speculation of Torres moving elsewhere and Lukaku's rotting relationship with Jose Mourinho, keeps Drogba a very ingenious prospect for fetching Chelsea glory. Diego Costa is likely to be leading the way whilst Drogba would assume more of a passive role in the upcoming season.

Didier Drogba scored 100 goals for Chelsea in 226 appearances and had been Chelsea's attack for a good 7 years. It was considered foolish to pay 24 million euros for a 26 year old striker on Jose Mourinhos part. The latter calmly said one thing : ' tell this when he leaves the club' and what an end to an amazing stint that was everybody knows.

the striker brings a lot with him, the aerial ability, the leadership, his knack of getting into right places at the right time, the physical nature of his game and not to forget scoring big goals. With 36 years old, will he have the same impact? Jose Mourinho believes so. The striker is still adept to the premier league and has all the qualities of a striker that Chelsea require. He insists that, its more of a timely act than an emotional one. Drogba has signed a year long contract with the club he loves and is hoping to make an even bigger impact. Drohba could even land a player-coach role at the club. The veteran bagged a modest 17 goals in 35 appearances for the Turkish team, Galatasaray, and with Mourinho's ability to bring the best out of players he could better his tally this season.
